AIRCRAFT TECHNOLOGY

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Our students continue their practical education by using the theoretical education in the classroom and the workshops of the Faculty of Engineering and the workshops of the Vocational School of Trakya University. The maintenance and repair of aircraft and workshops of installation of aircraft electronics  will take place. Aircraft parts/materials donated to our department from the Air Supply and Maintenance Center Commands will be used in our practical lessons in the near future.

The Titles, jobs and Fields of Work Gained by Graduates of the Program:

Our graduates are able to have the opportunity to work at the airports that our country currently owns and whose number is expected to increase in the coming years, in civil air transport companies working in the national and international sector, in aircraft maintenance-repair services, in the aircraft manufacturing sector and large-scale maintenance-repair companies. Our graduates have a very high potential to find a job due to the positive developments in aircraft technology and the increasing demand for labor. They can have authorization to sign according to the aircraft maintenance and repair certificates when they pass and become  successful the aircraft maintenance and repair certification exams. In addition, there are opportunities for career advancement by taking the external transfer exam conducted by OSYM. 

PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE FIELD OF EDUCATION

The Aircraft Technology program was established by preparing the curriculum for applying the SHY-147 Recognized School Accreditation of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM),has been implementing this curriculum since its establishment. Within the scope of our curriculum ,our students who will graduate, must take  the compulsory and elective courses such as Professional Mathematics, Physics, Vocational Electrics and Electronics, Digital Techniques and Electronic Equipment Systems, Materials and Hardware I-II, Basic Aerodynamics,Gas Turbine Engines, Piston Engines, Aerodynamics of Turbine Engine Aircraft-Structure and Systems, Piston Aircraft Aerodynamics-Structure and Systems, Human Factors, Maintenance Practices I-II, Aviation Laws, Propeller and Use in Aircraft, Helicopter Aerodynamics Structure and Systems Module courses; and Technical Drawing, Basic Aircraft Knowledge and Ethics, Occupational Health and Safety in Aviation, Machine Elements, Computer Aided Drawing, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, intensive Vocational English courses, Composite Materials, Fuel Tank Safety, Measurement Technique, Quality Assurance and Standards, Air – Compulsory and elective courses such as Space Robots I and II, Non-Destructive Material Inspection, Aircraft Body Paints and Painting Technology, Photography Techniques,which are stated by SHGM in this context. Our students who successfully complete 120 ECTS and 480 working hours internship to be graduated.
